JazzLeeds has organised the Jazz Sunday at the Chapel Allerton Festival every year since 2008. During the lockdown years of 2020-1 their regular promoter Steve Crocker kept the jazz flame alive by organising a regular mixture of outside and inside concerts at Seven Arts, some livestreaming, video magazine programmes, and the popular Flying High Jazz picnic in 2020 and the Chapel Allerton on Tour Jazz Sunday at Gledhow Sports Club in 2021.
JazzLeeds are back promoting the popular Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening weekly concerts @ Seven Arts and running jazz instrumental and vocal workshops and jazz sessions @ The Barn. They are planning more great music at the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival -both at the Sunday afternoon Jazz Sunday in Regent Street and with a number of fringe concerts at Seven Arts, the Willow Tree in Chapel Allerton and in the open air at Gledhow Valley Woods.
The notable celebrated Jazz Sunday will also return and take place on the Sun 4th Sept afternoon in Regent Street. Headlining and returning to the festival after a gap of 10 years are the New York Brass Band. More details to follow.
