Lead an activity or event at the 2025 festival

Chapel Allerton Arts Festival is run by the community, for the community. We want to invite you to shape the Festival by getting involved with leading an activity or event at the 2025 edition. We are inviting local and small businesses, artists, and community groups to submit a proposal to share their ideas. Whether your idea is an art workshop, a live performance, a family-friendly activity, or a cultural showcase, we welcome any creative proposal that aligns with the festival’s values of community, inclusion and opportunity, and broadens access to the arts.

Funding and eligibility

To help bring your ideas to life, each proposal may request up to £750 from the Festival to support the running of your proposal. We reserve the right to distribute the funding among several successful applicants to ensure a diverse range of events.

To be eligible, applicants should:

  1. Be a local or small business, artist or community group.
  2. Propose an activity or event that aligns with the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival’s principles of community, inclusion, and opportunity.
  3. Provide a clear outline of their proposed event, including a brief description, explanation of logistics, and funding and support required from CAAF.
  4. Be open to collaboration with the festival.

Proposal submission

Please submit a proposal of no more than 3 pages of A4 containing the following details:

  1. Event name and brief description, including who you are, what your proposal is, and why you want to get involved with CAAF
  2. Objective of your proposal and how it aligns with the festival’s values
  3. Target audience (e.g. whether your activity is predominantly aimed at young people)
  4. Proposed activities (e.g., workshops, performances, installations, etc. and details of how you will organise and run these)
  5. Required resources (materials, equipment, space, volunteers, etc.)
  6. Budget breakdown (including how much budget you require and how this will be spent)
  7. Previous experience or examples of past events (if applicable)

Please submit your proposals by May 15th by email to performing@chapelallerton.org.uk. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of June, and will need to work with the festival team to ensure that their events are safe, accessible and enjoyable for all attendees.
