Get Involved

Get Involved

The Festival is non-profit making and is completely run by local volunteers, from the planning and organising to the recycling and the stewarding. We are always in need of new volunteers to help plan the festival from around February until August/September, as well as people to be stewards or to help with family arts activities for a few hours at a time over the main weekend

You can also get involved by performing at the Festival, either on the main stage or on site, by booking a food or non-food stall, by entering a film into the Short Film Festival or by applying for our first Art Trail, or even by becoming a sponsor

We’re a really friendly bunch and the Festival is a great event that pulls together the Chapel Allerton community and celebrates local talent. So please use the contact page to get in touch and let us know what you’re interested in, or just send a general email to have a chat about it with one of the current volunteers

You can volunteer in lots of different areas and don’t need to have any particular expertise, just an enthusiasm for the Festival and a bit of time and energy to commit. At the moment we are particularly in need of help with Publicity/Communications, Sponsorship/Funding, Stewarding and Recycling

Planning Groups

Event Management
Food Stalls

Each of the planning groups meet at most once a month from about Feb/March and then we all get a rest from September until we start to gear up again for the following year

There is also a main committee that meets once a month and consists of representatives from each planning group (anyone volunteering in a group is very welcome to come to these main meetings) so that groups can update each other on progress, share information and pick up links between groups

All volunteers in planning groups also get the opportunity to take part in deciding which bands will play on the main stage

Helping Out During the Festival

Being a Steward – we need about 70 stewards to help on the Festival site on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. They are present at each gate to ‘meet and greet’ and along with the event managers, help keep the site safe. There is a rota so you’ll only have to do a couple of hours at a time, full training is given and you get to go to the rest of the festival for free. If you’re interested sign up here

Recycling – The buzz about helping with this work is knowing you have been a part of helping save many kilos of material (cans, plastic etc) from going to landfill. Special containers are on site and emptied on a regular basis into skips. Sounds mucky, but it isn’t. It’s a really streamlined, seamless process if enough people are there to help. Here’s more info and contact details if you want to help out

Helping with Family Arts Activities – we organise lots of interesting things for families to do, mostly on the Saturday of Festival Weekend but with some events during the week too. If you want to help out then get in touch with the activities group
