Fergus Quill’s Imaginary Big Band

Leeds bassist Fergus Quill won of The Musicians’ Company Tina May Jazz Award 2022, a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and is currently one of the “Take Five” group of young musicians supported by Serious. In 2022, he released his second album with his trio, “Blamo”, and also won the Music Company Tina May ‘UK Young Jazz Musician Of The Year’ Award

He runs the (huge!) 28 piece cosmic jazz ensemble Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band of young Leeds based musicians. The band recently wowed the audience at the Love Supreme Festival with their wild variety of Ferg’s originals, Beatles tunes, free improvisations, spoken word, sung songs, cover songs, card game songs, made up in a morning songs, outro songs. In February 2023, they released their long awaited debut album featured on BBC Radio 3 “J To Z” show and on Jazz FM.
